About Me

Dr. Pranav G. Charkha a teacher, facilitator, mentor and motivator. He is a seasoned academic leader and Professor in Mechanical Engineering with over 18 years of rich experience in teaching, research, and administration. Currently, he is working as Director (Industry Institute Interaction and International Relations) at PCET’s Pimpri Chinchwad University Pune. He has served in pivotal roles such as Head of Department, Dean Academics, Dy. Director & Dean at reputed institutions including Meghe Group of Institutions, Raisoni Group of Institutions & D Y Patil University Pune. His research expertise spans Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, and Smart Manufacturing, with over 50 publications in reputed journals (SCOPUS/Web of Science indexed), multiple patents, and published books.
Short Term Goals
Industry–Academia Collaboration
- Build strong networks with key industry partners across diverse sectors.
- Establish an Industry Advisory Board to align curriculum with real-world needs.
- Initiate as many as possible real time industry case or projects, internships, ultimately increasing employability index of institute


Youth Skilling
Launch skill development workshops in emerging areas (AI, Data Analytics, Sustainability, Digital Marketing, Pharma R&D, Supply Chain & Logistics etc.).
Introduce certification programs in collaboration with industry bodies (e.g., NASSCOM, CII, FICCI, sector skill councils).
- Ensure 70–80% student participation in skill-building beyond curriculum
Cultivating Innovation Culture
- Establish/strengthen an Innovation & Incubation Cell (Host Institute) in association with AIC/ MSME on campus.
- Organize hackathons, ideathons, and startup bootcamps every semester.
- Establishing skills specific Section 8 Company in PCU.
- Identify and mentor at least 10 promising student/faculty innovation projects for prototype development in next 2/3 years

Long-Term Goals
Industry–Academia Collaboration
- Sign MoUs with 50+ companies for research, projects, and placements.
- Create Centers of Excellence in collaboration with leading industries.
- Achieve national recognition as a hub for industry-driven research and training.
Youth Skilling
- Embed industry-validated skill modules within all degree programs.
- Attain 90%+ student employability through holistic skilling (technical + soft skills).
- Position the university as a Regional Skill Development Hub under national skill missions.
Cultivating Innovation Culture
- Incubate 20–30 student/faculty-led startups, with some securing external funding.
- File/publish 50+ patents, copyrights, or impactful research outputs.
- Build a reputation as a top-tier innovation-driven institution nationally and globally.
